Mrs. Nurse Boy here.
Last night was one of those precious nights that every mother delights in. After dinner, we all put on our PJ's, grabbed some blankets, and spent some time together in the living room. Bruiser and Sweet Pea both climbed into my lap and huddled under my blanket. Sweet Pea was sitting peacefully in my lap, Bruiser was reading a book to me and amazing me with his ever-improving reading skills, and Dimples was on the couch with his football cards spread out for miles. It was one of those moments when you take a mental picture.
Pretty soon they will all be too big to be in my lap or, worse, they won't want to be in my lap. Pretty soon football cards will be juvenile. Pretty soon Bruiser will be reading chapter books all by himself. While I often joke that one day I would like to go to the bathroom all by myself, I do realize that I just might be lonely when the opportunity arises. Last night was peaceful and relaxing. It warmed my heart.
That is, until Sweet Pea ran into our bedroom at 3 AM screaming at the top of her lungs.
After my heart palpitations returned to normal, Nurse Boy and I tried to understand what she was saying. Just when I thought she had had a bad dream, she threw up into her hands.
Yeah, I am NOT going to miss those wake up calls. Not one bit.

Eewwww, that is not fun! Hope everything gets better soon!!
Oh no! Poor little sweet pea. I hope she gets better quickly. I think my little guy is working on getting sick too. I'm definately not going to miss the 2am breathing treatments!
Love the mental picture though. I could just see you all in your PJ's cuddled up together!
Oh no!! Talk about a bad wake up call! I hope she's feeling better soon.
And all the while I read the first part (so sweet!), I was wondering what Lysol had to do with it. ;-)
Oh man...those wake up calls are not fun at all. If mine get sick it is always at night. Ugh.
Hope she is feeling better soon.
Boy, you know how to live it up at your house now, lol! I do miss that cuddle time, but there is so much to look forward to and enjoy that you really don't think about it that much. Like, I enjoy my kids telling me funny things that happened at work, etc.
I remember when my son threw up on his Bible when he was little (during Bible time). Also remember waking up in the middle of the night and washing sheets or cleaning puke off the carpet.
Nope, don't miss THAT!
Oh no!!! That's not the kind of wake up call you want. In fact, any wake up call at 3a.m. is no good. Hope she feels better. We've all got the crud... no throwing up, though. Thank goodness for that! :)
Oh ew. Not a fun way to end a peaceful evening. I hope Sweet Pea is feeling better.
Oh, that is just terrible! Why is it always at 3am? Why can't they vomit at 3 pm when I am wide awake and more capable of dealing with it?!
So, sorry! Yucky, yuck. Yuck, yuck!
Why do they need to tell us they are going to vomit, instead of just going to the bathroom? Potty training to puke training....
I truely hope Sweet Pea is feeling better and NOBODY else is following in her path.

That is a call that shouldn't come at any hour of the day. Why is it that kids think they need to tell you that they are going to throw up before they do it?
Hopefully football cards will never become juvenile for Bruiser.
What a shocking ending to a post with such a sweet beginning! :-) Wow. I hope Sweet Pea is feeling better for the weekend!
Oh yuk! That poor child, though. And yuk again!:-)
What a rough ending to a day! Or beginning to one I'd guess you'd say!
