Mrs. Nurse Boy here.
Last week flew right by and it is, somehow, already Monday. This weekend was busy, fun, and germ-filled. I am on a mission to clean EVERYTHING since the stomach bug reared it's ugly head yesterday, so random thoughts are my gift to you:
**Murphy's law: Last night, right before bed, Bruiser planted his forehead into a piece of furniture that was in his way. Yes, he has a HUGE bump on his forehead. Of course, today is picture day at school.
**At least he didn't try to cut his own hair the night before pictures. I may or may not have done that once or twice during my childhood. Never could pull off that uneven bang look.
**I don't think I am going to survive the boys' homework this year. Some afternoons it feels like I am homeschooling. Thankfully, they are excellent students and are pretty independent workers. If it weren't for that, I am afraid I just might lose my sanity.
**I have been on a baking kick when I should have been on a CLEANING kick. My freezer is full of goodies and my house is a mess. Which makes me want to sit in front of my freezer and eat frozen cookies instead of cleaning.
**I am a bit of a procrastinator, if you couldn't already tell.
**Sweet Pea is obsessed with having her nails painted, only to peel off the polish a couple of hours later and demand a new color. She is already showing signs of her Diva nature. Pray for me.
**Why is there always one kid in the house who just can't move faster than a snail in the mornings? Bruiser, I love you, but only one of us can be a slow moving grump in the mornings. I have already auditioned and accepted the role, thankyouverymuch.
**A free People Magazine showed up in my mailbox last week. I am embarrassed by just how much joy it brought me.
**Yes, I can be a bit shallow. I'll own it.
**Why is my kitchen full of pens that no longer work? Why can't people actually THROW AWAY the pens that refuse to write? Instead, they promptly return them to the drawer for the next fool (me!) who desires a writing utensil. Next thing I know, I am writing with a crayon.
Happy Monday to you! I am off to spend the day with one of my BFF's... Clorox Wipes!

Good luck with the cleaning. I would have enjoyed browsing in the magazine too :)
All three of mine are snails in the morning. Ugh.
School this year is going to be tough.
Can I visit your freezer?
Ooh, the stomach bug? Yuck!! I hope it passes quickly and without taking everyone down.
Is it bad that I totally cracked up at the slow moving grump part? Cuz thankfully there's only one of us that wanted that part. But I think it might be slightly worse to have a manic 4-year old in the morning when you just want to sloooowly get acclimated...
So sorry about the stomch bug! That should be right up Nurse Boy's alley, right? Eek!
Hope everyone is back to wellness soon (and the school pictures turn out great!)
Bummer about the sick bug. Hope it goes away for a looooong time.
I subscribe to People. Love it.
How about when your favorite pens keep disappearing? I hate that. Then I'm left with all the junk pens.
Of course it's murphy's law that something would happen right before pictures. I hope the little man is okay.
I want cookies in my freezer!!!
I just don't understand inundating kids with homework. I mean, they are at school all day, for heaven's sake! You don't want me to get started. :-)
Cookies never last long enough around here to make it to the freezer! I'm so envious. Can I pull up a chair next to your freezer and have a hot cup of coffee while I partake of your cookies? :-)
I don't buy People magazine, though I do browse through it sometimes when I'm at the library. I've been wanting to read the interview with Elin Nordegren.
Hope your week is off to a wonderful start, Mrs. NB, and that the flu bug is gone...banished!....from your home!!! :-)
Ha! Loved the non-working pen thing. I am forever out of paper and apparantly I'm the only one that can figure out that crazy new technology known as a pencil sharpener. I've contemplated writing on my arm with ketchup a time or two.
People Magazine is one of my naughty little pleasures as well, that and Figi water are all I need for an instant vacay!
LOL! Ah, Lil' Bub and I are two peas in a pod... until I kick him out of my slow moving grumpy pod and tell him to light a fire under it and get moving (and we don't even have to leave the house).
If I let him do things in his own time, it'd be noon before he had breakfast and brushed his teeth. The child didn't get up this morning until 10:30, and that was with me having to go and drag him out of bed! He's going to be a fun teenager.
Sorry you had a germ invasion. DB has been sick for 3 days (yep, the dreaded man flu). I'm hoping the kids don't get it.
