Monday's Random Musings

Today is a special Father's Day Edition.

I am married to the best father. I couldn't have chosen a more perfect father for my children. Nurse Boy is loving, kind, thoughtful, patient, and fun when it comes to our kids. When he is around, our family is complete. He is the fun, spontaneous one of the two of us. Most evenings you can find him squeezing in some time for wrestle mania with Dimples and Bruiser before he hits the books. Sweet Pea is usually on the sidelines cheering them on. Some nights she refuses to be left out, only to find herself in the middle of mayhem and foolishness.

Sure, it always ends with someone crying. Or something getting broken. Or me yelling. (But, I NEVER yell, so I am pretty certain it seldom ends that way. Stop laughing, Nurse Boy!) But, the kids LOVE spending time with their Dad. I am positive that they will remember the wrestling and not the broken lamp. (We won't talk about what I will remember.)

I am so proud of the father Nurse Boy has become. I pray that one day Dimples and Bruiser will look to their father when it is time for them join in the game of parenting. I also hope that Sweet Pea will look for a husband with similar qualities that I found in Nurse Boy.

Happy Father's Day, Nurse Boy!

Some random reasons why Nurse Boy is loved so much around here:

Dimples says:
He cares for me. Some kids don't have dads who care for them, but I do.
Every time he sees me, he always has a smile on his face.
He takes me fun places that I like to go.
He spends lots of time with me.
He is really fun. He even has fun with my friends when they come over.

Bruiser says:
He does fun stuff with me.
He takes me to the pool.
He lets me watch him work on stuff and lets me help him.
He is the best dad in the whole world.

Sweet Pea says:
He dances with me.
He hugs and kisses me all the time.
He is really lousy when armed with a comb and a ponytail holder.
(So, maybe she had a little help with this...)

Happy Father's Day to Papa and Grandpa as well! My children are blessed with caring and loving grandparents on both sides. Thanks for all of your love and support!
I hope everyone had a Happy Father's Day and had a father or role model to spend it with.

What a sweet tribute! Your children have an awesome daddy. It's so nice to have a dad who knows the importance of fun!

Yes, we had lots of giggles and wrestling. Lots of horsey rides, etc.

Now they're to big for horsey rides, but my hubby still does things with them. They go to games, hiking, play football, go to movies, etc.

What a great tribute. Mr. Nurse Boy sounds like such a sweetheart and your kids are so lucky.

Don't worry...I don't yell at all either. Ever. It's hard being so perfect isn't it? believe me, I totally know all about that. :-)

OK...should I say this? Your photo reminds me of Sandy Patti. Weird. I know. Have I said this before? Maybe not. Maybe I shouldn't....but she's beautiful and has an amazing voice so....that's good right?

This IS such a beautiful tribute to your husband, Mrs. NB! AND you DO look like Sandy Patti!!! Wow!
I was waiting to read your Monday musings! *smile* I know, I know, I need to get a life! LOL

I've never been a Sandy Patti fan... sorry... I know, I know, so contriversial! But that is totally not related to what I was going to say...

Do you ever go to punish your sweet little kids (not that they would ever need it, I'm sure, just a "what if" here) and then look at those eyes and back down???

What a special Father's Day gift for Nurse Boy.

Mummy McT,
No, those eyes are very sweet, but those kids have an honery side to them that they get from Mrs. NB. Plus, we are outnumbered, and we function as a dictatorship. If you want to keep order you can never back down. I will let you guess who the dictator is in our house, but it is not me.

It is an adult.

Its not the cat.

They are smok'n hot!

They are kind and loving.

No, it's really not me, but I can see why you might think so.

That's a lovely tribute to your husband on Father's Day! (I need to follow your lead in focusing on the positive side to HB's fathering rather than the broken-lamp side.) And the bit about the comb and elastic made me laugh - HB tries when he has to but it is never pretty!

Mr NB,
Wolf said I should point out to you that he doesn't live in your house and please stop refering to him as being smok'n hot, he's mine.

We figured we will be outnumbered with 3 kids but at least we can still seperate all of them during church with an adult between. I hate that it comes from a scifi movie but it seems appropriate... "Never give up, never surrender!"

I'm glad your dictator is kind and loving. Those kids are just too sweet!

Aw, that was sweet! BTW, I don't YELL either. I always talk in a soft voice and my boys hear me and immediately stop what they are doing and listen. . . (are you buying this?) whatever! ;-)
