How to Be Pinkalicious!

This is a story of life imitating art.

Pink art. Girly art. All things princess-like, art.

Grandma and Grandpa Nurse Boy gave Sweet Pea this book for Christmas. It is titled, "Pinkalicious." It is about a little girl who made PINK cupcakes with her mom. She ate so many cupcakes that she came down with a mean case of Pinkatitous and turned pink.

This is Sweet Pea's dream. One she wanted to come true.

One afternoon while visiting with Grandma and Grandpa Nurse Boy, Grandpa asked if we needed anything at the store. Sweet Pea promptly asked for PINK CUPCAKES. We all laughed. But, Grandpa followed through, as only a Grandpa can. He returned from the store with the brightest PINK CUPCAKES we had ever seen.

Sweet Pea didn't waste any time. She dug right in, while Grandma and I held our breath. (These things were GLOWING with pink dye. The kind of pink dye that might reside on your carpet, towels, and furniture for the next 5o years.)

There was no stopping the dream...

Beautiful, don't ya think?

She was in heaven...

She was proud...

She was cute...

She was a mess...

She was loving every minute of it...

Her mouth was stained...

Her hands had never been pinker...

She was DELIGHTED...

Her fingers tasted sweet...

SHE WAS PINKALICIOUS!!!!!

And, surprisingly, she wasn't alone!
Want to read about more examples of life imitating art... or maybe just life imitating all that is crazy and unplanned? Head on over to Once Upon a Miracle for some more laughs! They NEVER disappoint!

3 Facts Mrs. Nurse Boy forgot to share...

1. The store did not just have pink cupcakes. He had to special order them. Grandpa took spoiling to a new level.

2. The next day Sweat Pea ran to the mirrior to see if her toungue was still pink. She was sad when it wasn't.

3. Sweat Pea's next couple of bowel movement were bright pink. She loved that.

Good Lawd those are PINK!!!

And I am tickled PINK that Grandpa ordered those pink lovelies just for his sweet girl!

She is darling - I love her complete enjoyment of those treats!

And I was gonna ask, but Mr. Nurse Boy beat me to the grossness... I figured those were gonna "leave a mark" haha.

Your boys are gonna be wanting those obnoxiously neon blue ones now, right? LOL

I was sooo wondering if you were going to link this up to TST because it so qualifies! Thanks!

Sweet Pea and my Libby share the same dream!! I am going to have to get that book!

And the poop thing happens with all colors of icing. Our playgroup had a St. Patrick's Day party last year and everyone pooped green for a few days!

And..uh...thanks for sharing about the "pink poop", Mr. NB. Made my day. LOL
Sweet Pea must not be the only girl that likes pink because Walmart has one toy aisle that is COMPLETELY pink! I kid you not!!! I'll have to take a picture of it and post it! I couldnt' believe it!

Wow that is scary pink! Aren't grandads the best... although they all seem to be firm subscribers to the "it's easier to get forgiveness than permission" school of thought when it comes to dealing with the parents of their grandchildren. Which is another thing that wasn't mentioned - exactly what Sweet Pea's parents and Grandma said to Grandpa when he turned up with those outrageously pink cupcakes!

Sounds like a 'green' moment I had.
I couldn't remember my son eating ANYTHING that green!
It wasn't an, 'Iron Rich Diet' kinda green!
It was, it was....✩✩Crayola Lime Green✩✩ kinda green!!!
Ah yes, we had spent time drawing the previous day!

♥God bless Grandad's who take spoiling to a whole new level♥

Thanks so much for sharing.

Cheers

She is adorable with that cupcake! My little girl has that book and I think her older brothers love it even more than she does. I bought some green cupcakes once that were like that - more like greasepaint than frosting. Their faces and fingers were stained green for days - and the poop thing seems to be true with any intense color like that :)

Those were great pics. Bella's pre-k did that book this year and Bella asked for weeks if we could make pink cupcakes. Being so close to Christmas I had so much other baking to do, so we will do those for Valentine's Day!
