Monday's Random Musings

Mrs. Nurse Boy here.

Today I am sharing some of my random thoughts from Sunday morning. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

*Alarm goes off too early.

*Frankly, if the alarm is going off, it is too early.

*Hit the snooze... 5 times. It really is amazing that my wonderful husband puts up with such behavior!

*It is COLD when I get out of bed. Plus, I am already running late.

*Yep, this is a set up for a relaxing, happy, joyful morning... NOT.

*I should mention that my entire family shares a main bathroom. Good times. Especially on Sunday mornings.

*Boys are goofing off and come out of their rooms in short sleeves.

*It is 4 degrees outside. Need I say more?!

*Boys goofing off in the car.

*Bruiser has been in the car for 4 whole minutes, yet he STILL hasn't buckled his seat belt.

*Did I mention that he seems to be moving in S-L-O-W M-O-T-I-O-N this particular morning?!

*I lost it.

*Yep. I yelled.

*Loudly.

*ON OUR WAY TO CHURCH.

*After much thought and reflection, I muster up an apology when we get to church. God has really been dealing with me and my short fuse.

*I park myself in Sunday School. The topic? Parenting.

*The challenge? One change you can make immediately to be a better role model for your child.

*I swallow hard. God is really trying to work in me. Anger MUST take a hike. It is noted.

*Just when I feel like a horrible, no good, very bad parent, God encourages me during worship.

*On the Solid Rock I stand. All other ground is sinking sand.

*I am NOT standing in sinking sand.

*The sermon topic? Change is necessary. Our pastor was referring to the church, but I AM part of the church, aren't I?

*I get it, God. Time for change.

*And, I don't even have to do it on my own! (Good thing, too.)

*Thankfully, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

*Thankfully, I am NOT!

Happy Monday, everyone! Off to have a joyful day. It will be joyful because I have some major help from above!

Isn't God good like that? I was raising my voice Sunday trying to get everyone out of the house on time and thinking it's quite ironic to drive to church ticked off. ;)

Yeah - anger must go. My thoughts exactly. I even wrote a blog about it earlier today.

Are we in the same church? LOL

I don't have to yell anymore, I just brandish the weapon - good behavior cards for donuts on the way home.

Wow, I can relate. It's awesome that God cares about us enough to speak to us like that, especially after we do something underserving. It gives me chills. Thank you for sharing that.

Why is it always on Sunday that I lose it? Glad that God forgives me and so do my kids. I can so relate to this post.

I have noticed that when God is trying to tell me something he comes at me from every direction! I too am guilty of the Sunday morning short fuse. Satan really doesn't want us to make it to church!

I could use that message too-I have simiar situations occuring here on a daily basis some days, and I don't always exhibit the fruit of the spirit being patience...or self control...or goodness...
Our message on Sunday? What is my fruit basket filled with? Yikes. God read my mind...and I need his more, obviously.

I am totally with you on this one. Just this afternoon I was listening to my bible on CD as I was driving home from work. I decided to start with the New Testament. This passage was read and I had to turn off the radio and brood on this for a while. It's from Matthew 12:34-37

For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. 35The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. 36But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. 37For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned."

Really makes me think about what I say and think. I'll be praying for you sweet blog friend.

Amen! I feel you. Don't you love when God sends a message just for you. I have had some of those too.

Mmmhmm, our minister started the service on Sunday talking about the pre-church tension in most homes. It's universal. At the moment however I feel like it's the "getting out of the house on time for anything" tension around here. I too have been feeling that it's gotta change.

Mummy McT,
In the southern hemisphere when you start spinning out of control, is it in the oposite direction as here?
