Things That Make Me Smile

Yesterday, Nurse Boy and I surprised the boys and showed up during their lunch hour.

Each boy got to bring a friend to join us at a separate table.

Yes, Nurse Boy seems to be a bad influence wherever we go. They got just a little rowdy.

(I should mention that they are all wearing crowns because they each earned the privilege to go to a grade level "Triple A" party... Attendance, Academics, and Attitude. Yep, these are good kids.)

See, there he goes again. All Nurse Boy's idea.

I think I saw the lunchroom monitor giving us the stink eye.

Taking some time to bond with my buddies always makes me smile.
(It also reminded me just how much I DON'T miss school lunches. Yuck!)

Nobody look at the names on their crowns. We wouldn't want to crack our secret blog code!

Look at how happy he is that you are there. What fun parents you are.

Hey, can you do that again when they are in highschool and give us pictures of that one too? That's such a great idea. I turned up to see Lion at kindy one day, just for a visit, and he TOTALLY FREAKED OUT! He thought I was going to take him home at lunch time. He saw me and burst into tears... not the reaction I was going for... so glad your visit went so well. That "food" does look rather unapealing doesn't it?

and it seems we both have good taste in boys names... you know, just guessing though since I did what NB asked and didn't look at their crowns... and I wouldn't want anyone cracking our secret blog code!

Great times.

I remember the cafeteria serving food, but nothing really stands out in my mind as something they made well.

Now, Mr. NH - I never would have thought to look for names on their crowns if you hadn't pointed it out. But now that you did...

I'm kinda thinking poor little sweet pea is being left out of the crown party. She is a princess, afterall. Maybe you could make her a crown with her name on it and post pictures. It's only fair, afterall!! :)

Yay for cool good kids! I love the rowdy pictures - that's what dads are for :)

And if you're worried - I would happily edit out their names for you. I can just copy the pics from your post and send them back to you via email if you want. I know how that goes...! :)

I confess I have never, no never, not even once, been tempted to eat school lunch with my boys. We usually bring lunch to them for after the dance festival and often kidnap them and force them to sluff school with us on their birthdays.

I just adore those boys smiles. Way to get rowdy Dad, stink eye from the lunch monitor is a rite of passage.
