Mrs. Nurse Boy here.
It's that time of year.
The only time of year that pink and red actually go together. No, make that BELONG together. And, hearts aren't cheesy, but show someone you care.
Especially if they are filled with dark chocolate. But, I digress.
I love Valentine's Day when I watch it through the eye's of my children. They love that they can create with stickers, candy, paper, and TAPE. Boy, do they LOVE tape.
I talked them into making homemade Valentines this year, since Martha Stewart and I are long lost best friends.
Stop laughing, Nurse Boy.
OK, I am NO Martha Stewart. Not even close. But, I like to play her on my blog.
Once I embraced my patient side and the boys got their grubby little hands on their often forbidden friend, Mr. Scotch Tape, it was pure heaven.
We had three different Valentines that we made.
"You're a JOY to be around." (With an Almond Joy.)
"You make me laugh." (With a Snickers.)
And, "Be cool, Valentine!" (With a mint.)
Add some stickers and the project is complete.
Even Dimples had fun.
Yep, homemade Valentines make me smile!
(And, so do chocolate covered strawberries... I'm just saying.)

Wow, what enthusiaism! I dread the whole school part of valentines. Our school has a valentines box contest for the kids, not. The parents more like.

I love homemade valentine's! Love it even more when I get to help. Yours are adorable!
Great job guys! The Valentine's look yummy! :)
Very cute valentines! I'm personally a fan of anything that comes with candy! :)
Those are really adorable and what cute ideas to match the candy bars with the sayings!
You're such a good mom, Mrs. NB!!!
It's PROJECT RUNWAY night! AND have those designers ever been mixin' it up with the models or what? Wow! :-)
You are so good!! I went with the store bought variety and called it good. One of these days I'll be on the ball enough to do something creative.
Those turned out cute. I love the valentines with candy attached:)
Fun times. You may not be Martha Stewart, but there's some kind of domestic diva hiding in you. I rather get one of those valentines than a Sponge Bob or My Little Pony anyday.
Those are really cute. great job.
Neat idea. I'm sure the kids had a blast doing it too.
How creative are you? That looks like so much fun! Are you sure the chocolates are going to make it to school? I think if it were me I'd buy the choclates and a backup of suckers. We made homemade Valentines cards this year too. I plan to post pictures soon, but I'm waiting for Intense Debate to fix my comment form. BTW, I think once you've entered your info once it saves it. So no need to enter it EVERY time you comment! :) Sweet, huh?
That is such a great idea and looks like it will be so much fun! I loved decorating our valentines boxes every year. I will have to start that tradition with my little ones.
This is why I love Valentine's Day!
