Things That Make Me Smile!

Mrs. Nurse Boy here.

This summer we invested in a fire pit. Yes, I said fire pit.  We are city folk over here.  Born and raised.  Quite frankly, we're darn proud of it.  Yes, I know the beauty of the country side, the open fields, the snow capped mountains, the rippling lakes, and the sandy beaches.  God's beauty is all around us.

We just like to call our appreciation VACATION.

Yep, that is indeed what vacations are for.  But, when living out this daily thing called life, I prefer the conveniences of the city.  Don't get me wrong, I often find myself complaining about Walmart and Quik Trip being stationed on every street corner.  However, I do venture in to those places and even jump for joy when I have a sick kid in the middle of the night and we are all out of Tylenol.  I can just hop in the car for a quick drive.  A 5 minute trip can solve most of my problems and I wouldn't have it any other way.

BUT, an evening in our backyard sitting around the fire pit with my family is so relaxing.  Add some marshmallows and chocolate, and I am in heaven...

Plus, if we run out of marshmallows, I can be back in 5 minutes with a fresh bag.  Now, THAT makes me smile!

I agree, a fire pit is awesome. But a fire pit in July? I'm not so sure that would make me smile! That would for sure make me sweat. Although, you've got something with the marshmellows! A good S'more always brings a smile.

Glad you're enjoying your summer! :)

Good point about the quick trips to the store. I love a fire pit. I want one. I really want the marshmallows and chocolate! It's like camping in your backyard...and you get to go inside to use the restroom!

We love our fire pit too. Very fun. You are too funny about running out for marshmallows. I do the same thing.

I'm thinking we're not even allowed to have fire pits. I think our neighbors do, but they are rebels. ;-)

Now I want some s'mores. Mmm.

Two things. #1 we had a couple pretty cool nights when we did the fire pit. #2 what do you mean YOU will be back in five minutes. I think we all know WHO would be back in five minutes if we run out of anything.

Our firepit is the inside bowl of a washing machine! We're country folk and use what we got! But we too love our fire pit!

Come by when you can...

Aww, I'm so envious! Even though we DO live in the country and have a campfire ring in the lower part of our yard...down by the "crick"...:-)....I would still love to have a firepit or whatever they are called, on the backporch. I know, I know....that doesn't sound very safe but I would be there watching it every minute! I would!
Anywayyyy....so happy for you and back when we went camping we had a fire every night no matter how hot it was! I mean, you HAVE to have a campfire when you're camping! :-)

*snort* city slickers....might as well put them marshmellers in a microwave for all that fire pit will do for 'em.

*wink* Just kidding!

I live in town too and though we don't have a Wal-Mart on every corner, we do have one small one and it is nice to be able to run to it if we need something for the kid in the middle of the night!
