Monday's Random Musings

Mrs. Nurse Boy here.

Since school is back in session, I have decided to bring back my Random Musings on Mondays.  Honestly, I am not normally a fan of Mondays.  The house is usually a mess, the laundry promises to be a mile high, and my list of errands is always scary long.  Thus the randomness.

So, here I go...

**Yesterday, the drummer at church had on a bright red t-shirt with a huge Elmo face on it.  Funny shirt, but horribly distracting.  His poor wife. ;0)

**Poor Nurse Boy needed to caulk our shower this weekend.  He rushed off to the hardware store Saturday evening and conquered the caulk isle.  Or, so he thought.  Around 11 PM he decided it was time to tackle the shower, only to discover he bought the wrong caulk.  Truth be told, EVERY SINGLE TIME he has had to purchase caulk in our 11 years of owning a home, he has returned home with the wrong caulk the first time.

**I couldn't understand what was so hard about picking out caulk until I entered that crazy isle.  Seriously?  Who knew there were that many caulk choices??

**Nurse Boy ran to Walmart around midnight on Saturday night to see if they had the right kind of caulk.  They didn't.

**Walmart, if you are going to be open 24 blasted hours a day, why don't you actually carry what we need?

**I love self-tanner!  Just thought you should know.  And, I don't mean the kind that turns you orange or makes you look scary.  But, when you are as white as I am, any little bit of color helps.

**We had Dimples' soccer team over to our house this weekend.  They had practice, watched some DVR'd World Cup Games, and ate pizza.

**13 ten-year-old boys can be pretty noisy, silly, and smelly.

** Not too mention, they sure can pack away the pizza!  Scary!

**I am thinking about upgrading my cell phone and joining the texting world.  I am starting to feel left out.  Or old.  Which, I am not.

**This weekend we celebrated Nurse Boy's birthday with his favorite cake that his mom made for him during his childhood.  This year I made it, which is always risky.  For some reason, he claims that neither my mom or I can make it EXACTLY right.

**My favorite part about the cake?  It has PINK icing!  Ha!  I married a man who is man enough to be a nurse AND have a pink birthday cake.

**He is either a keeper or batting for the other team.  Here's hoping he is a keeper.  (Ha!)

**I am blessed to have married my best friend.  He knows me better than anyone else.  Sometimes he just needs to hear how much I appreciate and love him.  I bet your spouse needs to hear it, too!

Happy Monday!

I used to be a 10 year old boy. I know all about the aroma.

As soon as I read the words "self-tanner" I thought "orange".Too many people look like Oompa- Loompas any more.

You can't be old, because I'm older than you are, and I'm not old.(maybe I just never grew up)

I sometimes wonder if I bat for the other team as well. I DVR and watch Glee without my wife for goodness sake. If it just wasn't for that whole loving my wife thing. I love and desire every ounce of you Mrs. Nurse Boy, so I think I will stay with the team I'm on.

Yes, it would have been nice to see a picture of the cake! :-)
Love reading your randomness but am too tired to excessively comment like I usually do. :-/
I always look forward to your posts, Mrs. NB!!!

Why don't Home Depot and Lowe's stay open 24 hours?

I want to see a picture of the pink cake! What a guy!!

Come by when you can...

I love when men are confident enough in their manhood that pinks and purples don't put fear in them!

I don't think I could handle having a 24 hour Lowe's in existence!

I love all of your randomness.

This was an awesome random post. So awesome that my random mind can't even figure out what to comment on ;) Sad I know. I do want to say I enjoyed it though and I agree that Lowe's and Home Depot should remain open at night.

I want to know what kind of cake it was too. Hubs has no problems with that kind of stuff. Pink tastes just as good as blue!

I think men would bend over backwards for us if we just gave them more affirmation. I wish I wasn't as stubborn as I am and did better with this. Reminders like this help.

I actually smiled after reading Mr. NB's comment. My hubs hardly even reads my blog.

I have a caulk drawer where all the random tubes of caulk that never made it back to the caulk aisle live. I think my mind shut down at Home Depot, I always come home with duct tape though.
