Mrs. Nurse Boy here.
Ah, yes. It is Monday. As always, I can tell it is Monday morning by my dirty floors and the hampers full of smelly laundry. It is days like this that I wish I had a full time job to go to while Nurse Boy stayed home to take care of the house. Is it just me, or do any other wives dream of coming home to a clean, organized home? Honestly, I love staying home, but it is the Mondays I could do without.
On to my randomness...
*****Why must my son put his soccer cleats on 30 minutes before practice and parade around the house while dropping wads of dirt on my freshly vacuumed carpet?*****
*****And, while I am at it... Why can't my boys aim for (and HIT!) the big, gigantic target in the bathroom. You know the target... THE TOILET. Is it really that difficult to hit?*****
*****What happened to the quality of big wheels?! Seriously, they don't make them like they used to!*****
*****Did that last statement make me old, 'cuz my dad says this daily.*****
*****No, Dad, you aren't old. So, I guess that means neither am I. 8) *****
*****Is it wrong to lock yourself in the bathroom for a little peace and quiet? Because it feels so right!*****
*****I recently discovered that my boys were wadding up each and every article of clothing that I skillfully folded while putting their laundry away in their dresser.*****
*****I also discovered that suggesting WE reorganize the messy dresser drawers will bring me a little peace and quiet. I might as well have yelled, "Scram!," since that is exactly what they tried to do.*****
*****We shall see how long the newly organized dresser and closets last. I give them a couple of days. Here's hoping it isn't a couple of hours.*****
*****Have you ever found yourself enjoying a nice, warm shower, only to open your eyes to a big, black spider hanging from your ceiling? Looking right into your baby blues? Suddenly, you feel frighten and oh-so-venerable because you realize you are (gasp!) naked and taking a shower with an ugly spider. A spider that appeared from no where. Hanging from the ceiling. And, you can't get your hands on a shoe. Or even a Kleenex.*****
*****My advice is to put the baby shampoo bottle to use. And, watch your new friend wash down the drain.*****
*****Somehow, you will feel creeped out for the rest of your shower. Even though you know it isn't rational.*****
*****I prefer showers by myself. I especially don't like to share them with anything that has 8 legs.*****
Happy Monday, everyone!
(Please feel free to join me in the comments or with a post of your own! I have had a few people ask about posting some randomness of their own. I am considering posting a Mr Linky sometime this fall to see if there really is an interest. In the meantime, just let me know in the comments that you will be doing a post of your own. You can even give me a little linky love in your post, if you feel so inclined! I would love to read your posts, as well!)

Oh, it's Monday here too. For sure. Clothes are piled to the ceiling in the laundry room. I have dirty floors as well. At least you don't have to mop! HAHA.
I give up on getting my boys to hit the "target." I cannot put into words how disgusting their bathroom is.
Oooh, if you do a Monday's Random linky thing... I'm in! :)
Y'all have a great week!
It is crazy over here...waiting for my washer to arrive clothes are piled to the ceiling. it may take me 4 or 5 trips to get them all downstairs to wash. Arrrgh.
My kids do that with their cleats too. I need to remember to tell them after the games to stomp them out. Why do I always forget until they are running around the house and I am finding dirt in every room? Great randomness!
Happy Monday!
Ah, Mondays...I've been in the bathroom to witness the challenge that is aiming for the toilet. In my son's case, he usually walks in there at the last possible second, his bladder bursting and as he struggles with his pants, his hips swaying side to side in a panic, the inevitable stream begins before he's ready and...voila - unpleasant mess for mom to clean up. Gotta love them.
Spiders in the shower are bad news! Ditto with the roaches, we have teeny tiny ones that end up living in any damp wash cloths you might leave hanging around to dry, so the next time you pull said washcloth out to say...wash yourself. The little bugger will probably end up on your person. This is also pretty unpleasant.
Happy Monday. I love your randomness too. Good luck with the laundry!
DITTO on everything!!!!
We spent the weekend organizing clothes in the boys room-I love organization, but even I am overwhelmed! That is the worst job, ever!!!!
(Wait a sec-No, laundry is still number one...)
Umm, yeah, the spider thing is nasty. When dating Jdaddy, he was living in a yucky boy apartment with a friend (you know what I mean!) and I was laying on the couch watching tv. For some reason, I looked up and saw a spider handing an inch from my nose. I FREAKED out. I think the guys almost peed they laughed so hard. Not cool, not cool at all.
No, it is NOT wrong to lock yourself in the bathroom! Totally and completely ok. I'm with you on the whole irrational spider thing. That would creep me out even after it was dead.
I posted my own musings and linked to your blog!
Have a blessed day!
Spiders...YIKES!!! I think I would have scrambled out of there so fast and gotten the hubs. Good for you for woman-ing up and taking care of it yourself!
Yes, I hate a messy house on Mondays...I usually try to designate a clean up time on Sunday afternoons in hopes of avoiding chaos the next day...
I just love your random thoughts.
It is normal to lock yourself in the bathroom. The only problem is when the kids discover you're in there and pound on the door.
I would say that it is not nomal to lock yourself in the bathroom! If the kids die in the time it takes to take care of business they were not long for this world anyway.
Mr. NB
I lock myself in the bathroom sometimes but they always find me within ... oh ... say ... about 30 seconds!
The spider incident sent a shiver down my spine.
Have you seen the photo of the cute little baby over at the McTavish blog? Warning - do not look if you are inclined to get clucky because even this "no-more-babies-ever-again-and-I-mean-it" mum of 6 wanted another one after seeing that photo. (The feeling fled as pregnancy memories came flooding in.)
Okay - seriously - I have so missed your Monday Musings while I have been on my bloggy break. I started trying to catch up some today and just wanted you to know that you are on my list of people that I "had" to visit today.
And I'm so glad you did. You and the others on my "list" have reminded me why I blog and have inspired me to come out of bloggy hiding and get back to it!
Besides - we're going to have our show pigs soon - and I know you'll be all over that. You're gonna love it! Can't wait to share with you!
Thanks for being an inspiration today - whether you knew you were or not!!!
I'd rather shower by myself as well. Unfortunately, our new house appears to be some sort of mecca for the hairy legged squigglers. Walking through webs outside is bad enough, but inside? Shudder.
