Things That Make Me Smile

A WORKING microwave!!!!

This week we received a refund check from Nurse Boy's university. I know, it was a miracle! Universities don't usually part with money so easily. (We kind of overpaid-- long story.)

We thought the check would only cover about half the cost of a new built in microwave and instillation. We were wrong.

The microwave was on sale for a FABULOUS price AND the salesman told Nurse Boy how to install it himself. We had money left over! (I say HAD, because the left over money reminded me just how gross some of our drinking glasses were looking. So, basically, I was like a kid with a dollar in my pocket. I couldn't stand wasting it's beauty in my deep, dark pocket. Nope. I had to wave it around and buy something. I am such a good example for my kids.)

Nurse Boy did have some help. My dad came to the rescue and helped out.
I am going to get in trouble for posting all of these shots of their bald heads. Ha!

I would say it was a cinch, but Nurse Boy did shed blood. Twice.

Sweet Pea was super helpful. At least that's her story and she's sticking to it.

Now, THAT brings a smile to my face!

Yay for your microwave. You got it a whole lot fast then I got mine. Of course, no University sent me any money. Had they, it would have been a miracle since neither hubby or I attended a university :o)
Sorry about the shed blood. Had they let Sweet Pea do the work, it might not have happened!
Enjoy your new glasses :o)

Oh, yay!! So glad you got a new one.

Oh, and whenever I see James and his dad working on something, I always take pictures and they are always saved in a folder titled 'untrained monkeys'. If this had happened at my house, those pictures would have gone in that folder!

Yay for a new microwave! How 'bout that?!! Looks great too! My dad and hubby installed ours when we moved into our house and I was always worried I would open it to use it and it would come crashing down onto the stove. HAHA! That hasn't happened, though.

Looks good.

I'm just glad you didn't have to call "professional installers" or the emergency squad.

Either of them can really ruin your day.

Woohoo for working microwaves!!! New fabulous drinking glasses are a must. Good job on getting a good deal and for hubs and daddio installing it themselves.

YIPPEEEEEEE! Did you leave the meat for dinner in the freezer 'til the last minute just so you could use your new microwave to defrost it?

So happy you got new glasses too, happy happy happy, I love new stuff to go in my kitchen cupboards!

Mr NB. I'm guessing if he gets MVP you'll claim some of the victory for yourself because after all, you wore his shirt!

Blessing indeed. So excited for you. Hey a little blood is better than FOUR letter words or any other # lettered words during the installation. Yea team.

Chicken looks great. I need to search for some recipes my self.

Hey! Now we have the same microwave! Watch out though, ours is now missing the handle :(

Bet your hubby was not too happy with the outcome of the superbowl, eh?

I decided to pop over from Michelle's blog as she bragged so highly of you. Have a good day!
