Spring Break~~ Day 1
Today we slept in a little (YAY!) and met some new friends at a children's wonderland...
The place was full of inflatables and tunnels. The kids had a ton of fun, ran off a lot of energy, and bonded with some wonderful new friends.
The best part? I bonded with some new friends as well.
While we were at this fabulous play place, I made a few random observations:
* No matter how much you feed your kids before leaving the house, they will constantly harass you for food as soon as you arrive at your destination.
* Prepare to be interrupted every 5 seconds when chatting with your friends.
* The deeper the conversations, the more the interruptions.
* Your children will start asking to leave approximately one hour after arriving, only to announce they are BORED as soon as they walk into the house.
* There is always a bully in every crowd. A bully who seems to have been dropped off and abandoned. Seriously, WHERE ARE THEIR PARENTS??!!
* If you look hard enough, you will always find some other kids acting up more than your own. Is it wrong that that somehow makes me feel a little better as a parent? I guess it shouldn't, since you are probably looking at my kids and thinking the same thing.
* If it is a place that requires the kids to take off their shoes, plan to spend the last half hour searching for matching pairs. (While the children sit and watch your frantic search because "they are sooooo tired and hungry.)
All in all, it was a fun day. I am proud to say that I wore the kids out! And, that has been a challenge since the weather here has been cool, gloomy, and wet. Nothing at all like SPRING. Oh, wait. It isn't spring yet. Why in the world do we have "Spring" Break in the winter?? But, then again, what do I know? I just pay taxes around here.
Happy Monday!!

You should write a book about parenting! You know all of the things that kids do, Mrs. NB! It could be a book telling new parents what to expect! All of the above things are sooo true, SO true! Especially the one about feeding your kids before you leave home so you don't have to pay exorbitant prices for food at these play places, only to have your kids scream, "But, Mom, I'm starving! My throat is so dry!"
You've got 'em down to a "T"! LOL
Girl, you have me cracking up! All of those observations are patently true for each and every poor parent and child on an excursion!
And I'm sorry, you must have run into the same abandoned bully who injured our little guy. Tell me you gave 'em the stink eye?
It sure sounds like a wonderful start to spring break! :)
Yeah...what is it with the bullies? I think they are bullies because their moms are on the cellphone sitting on a bench somewhere. Oh gosh, I am still having flashbacks to my bad playground experience from a couple years ago. I need to let it go! *sigh* I just can't!
Well, anyhoo...glad you had fun. Oh and I must tell you...so I don't sound too innocent on the ice cream front. I had a baby cone myself...I was just hoping to steal more of my toddler's! :-)
I wish we had a fun place like that around here. Nada.
You really do have an early spring break. Ours doesn't start until the week after Easter!!
Ahh, spring break. I wonder why spring break is necessary anyway. I'm all for year round school - minus the breaks every few months. :)
You guys have the best fun!
I hate it when you politely ask the bully to tone it down and he goes off screaming that you're not his boss. Duct tape anyone?
Hey does your school district know when SPRING starts? JK
Glad you are having fun.
Sorry that the bully found you guys. Poor kid just probably needs love add attention.
Keep on havin' FUN!

I have made some of those same observations. Yes...the bully kids parents are always off somewhere not paying attention. Glad you had fun though. Hope the weather improves:)
