Here is my Question

Nurse Boy here.

The Mrs. revealed to me how much she spends on her haircuts now. That is a lot of money and she doesn't just get her hair cut. She highlights and low lights it. That is a separate trip and a lot more than a cut. She also just started getting her eyebrows waxed. Yes, she pays someone to yank hair out by the root. Apparently, once you wax, you don't go bacx. And, no I won't start to wax my back no matter how much she begs. But wait, that is not all. She explained to me that normal shampoo and conditioner somehow don't work in her hair. Apparently the FDA, or whoever the governing body for cosmetics is, does not know what they are talking about when they approved those regularly priced shampoos. She can't get her make up there either. Not good enough.

So when I hear all of this, I can't help but to wonder this one question.

When did I become her sugar daddy?

To answer your question, When you said "I do." I think this falls under the "For better or worse, for richer or poorer" part of the ceremony.

I agree Nottaguy, we have to embrace the "for poorer" aspect every time she goes to the salon.

MotH whines about the same thing and to him I say this: would he rather I let myself go?

Just as your car requires more maintenance as it ages, so do we. We (meaning women) run better with quality parts and a good wax job.

Imperfect,
Are you saying the Mrs. is an "older model"? Are you saying that I should have purchased the "extended" warantee? I also don't agree with going to the dealership. I change my own oil. I could go on all night, but I am tired.

Brad - Have you ever gotten ANYTHING waxed? Have you ever sat in a salon chair, or under a HOT dryer for HOURS on end waiting for your hair to accept the color treatment? I have a feeling the answer to both questions is a NO. So, until you walk in Mrs. Nurseboys shoes, you can harldy criticize her for the pain and suffering she goes through every time she goes to the salon....and to think, she does this ALL so she can be beautiful for YOU!

C&S - amen. We suffer and it's all for them.

NB - you don't need the extended warranty and she's not an older model, she's a "classic". "Classics" go up in value, but it costs more to own them because they are so rare.

Can I just say that MotH would beam with pride over my car analogies?

All I can say is I am FEELING THE LOVE!!!!! Us women know how to stick together, don't we?! And, yes, IM, I agree completely. I AM a classic! ;0)

Whoops! That was Mrs. Nurse Boy...but ya all knew that, I'm sure!

My last comment is that despite what you all say, I know what she does at the salon is not for ME!!!
You have to admit it, but all that stuff you go through, is for yourselves and other women. If the Mrs. never told me she waxed her eyebrows, I would never have known. I am colorblind, I don't know what a lowlight looks like. Thats all I have to say about that.

Poor Mr. Nurse Boy... Adorable Hubby has finally succumbed to the grim reality that a day at the spa is much more likely to get him the wax job he wants then just about anything else. He consoles himself by sending me to get my hair done, it gives him the illusion of power.
