Friday Fare!

Mrs. Nurse Boy here.

It is Friday and the weather couldn't be more beautiful over here in our neck of the woods. We are hoping that spring just might be here to stay. The boys can't get enough of the outdoors and are ready for soccer practice to begin next week.

Spring is probably my favorite season. Goodbye colds! Goodbye influenza! Goodbye snow! Goodbye ice! Goodbye mittens and scarves! None of you will be missed. I promise. So, don't show your ugly head around here again!

The only problem with spring? It puts me into a spring cleaning mode. I don't really enjoy spring cleaning, but I LOVE the end result. We have a lot of organizing and painting to do. Let's just say there doesn't seem to be a single closet in our home that doesn't vomit on you when it is opened. That simple fact is on my very last nerve. Time to dig deep into those closets. Pray I win, people!

Today's Friday Fare is an old recipe I discovered our first year of marriage. It can be the main course, an appetizer, or a snack. I love these when I am entertaining. They are a wonderful treat at baby or bridal showers, or even a game night with friends. Boy, I am in desperate need of a game night with friends! Whoops. I will stay focused here.

Chicken Roll Ups

1 small can Swanson White Chicken (Drain)
8 oz. cream cheese (I use light)
4 green onions and stems, diced
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 cans refrigerated crescent rolls

Mix the first 4 ingredients together and place a heaping tsp. of mixture onto the large end of each crescent roll triangle. Fold corners over mixture and roll up. Bake as directed.

I love to serve these at room temperature. They are simple and delicious!

Off to tackle those closets!

I feel the same way that you do about Spring. I'm so excited that it's finally warming up and I probably won't have to carry in another load of firewood for 7 or 8 months. Yippeee!!!

But the cleaning... oh the cleaning. I swear there's something about the smell of the air outside that makes me get into cleaning mode. (I wish that smell would go away. lol)

Fight the urge. Seriously, it'll go away if you ignore it, it's not like the kids. Try this trick... go back to bed, stick your head under a pillow and sing a bad 80's song really loud. Hang on, that's my trick for ignoring the kids, for the cleaning just grab the kids and get out of the house... don't walk, RUN... can't see it, can't do it.

I know just how you feel about the spring-cleaning bug! I get it, too, when the sun shines through the windows and all of the shows! And when Iopen a closet door. I have to pace my self and do a little at a time AND I am not a spring-cleaning person either! Yuck!
And now I know what I am going to fix for our ladies' meeting Tuesday evening! I've never had those and they sound wonderful! Thanks, Mrs.NB!
