The Mr.'s Monday's Random Musings

Well, it is Monday again and all we can put together are random ribbons of thought. Neither the Mrs. or I can put together a well thought out post on Mondays, so here goes...

*****Basketball is finally over. We had to be up and out of bed by 6:30ish to make it to an 8 a.m. game for eight straight Saturdays. We feel like we should have earned something or received a medal. Props to the Mrs. I did not think she would make it to every game, but she did. I think the lure of coffee after the game motivated her. Why not coffee before the game you ask? It would make more sense to caffenate early you say? That would be five to seven minutes of precious sleep! We don't waste a snooze button session around here.

*****We learned a few things in kindergarten basketball this year. Dribbling is optional. Passing is what you do if you forget to keep dribbling too far from the basket. We only pass to our friends when we are six. It is safer to steel the ball from a kid on your own team than a kid on the other team. If you are not sure what to do, then stand by the kid you are guarding and put your hands up. You can do that if you are on offense or defense. Spinning is fun!

*****Soccer starts in 3 weeks. If we have an 8 a.m. game the first week, then I quit. Not sure what I quit, but whatever it is, I am done.

*****I am now an ACLS and BLS instructor. That means I know how to teach advanced and basic CPR. Is it wrong that I hope some one's heart stops in front of me now? Is it wrong that I think the the CPR training scene on "The Office" is even funnier now? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ecbjo2J5auM

*****The Mrs. and I went on a date today. It was a lunch date. It consisted of going to the Cheesecake Factory and then Home Depot. I enjoyed it. When did I officially get old?

*****If Sweet Pea drank too much Sweet Tea, would her urine be Sweet Pee?

*****Why is it that when I am laying Sweet Pea down and I want to close my eyes and fall asleep next to her, she hits me and says "get out of my room." If I am done praying and singing with her and I want to go, she puts her arm over me and says "go nigh night daddy." How does she know what I want to do and why does she desire the opposite?

*****Why is it that any time I fall asleep at any other time than bedtime, it makes the Mrs. mad. Is my snoring and bed breath so offensive that she can't take it while she is awake? That is a jealous woman and there are few things that she covets more than sleep.

*****We had the biggest snow fall of the season Saturday morning. It was freezing last night and it is supposed to be even colder tonight. It is supposed to be 70 on Thursday. Is March coming in like a lion or a lamb?

*****Daylight savings is on Sunday morning this next week. Whoever invented daylight savings is a stupid jerk! A stupid jerk without kids! A sadistic stupid jerk without kids!

Have a great week. Our random musings will be even more random and less musing next week. Stupid daylight savings. It is the same amount of daylight for Pete's sake.

We don't save a darn thing.

My sister lives in Arizona and they don't change their clocks...EVER! Makes me angry. When it's a 3 hour time difference instead of 2 it makes keeping in contact more difficult. I know it's only 1 hour but for some reason it just does.

We signed up for town baseball this year. I hope our games aren't at 8 a.m. on Saturday mornings!!

Much love from NJ,
Sue

Your Monday posts aMUSE me...sorry it's definitely Monday.

Daylight Savings, grrr! Ben Franklin and I are gonna have a little talk in the after life. I think someone told me that he was the brainchild behind the clock changing madness. (Ben, if it wasn't you...my bad)

Baseball season is the one that gets us. We're supposed to have 4 different teams this year. I'm not sure if I'll sign the two youngest up.

WE DO. Kids get up with the sun anyway. Might as well get on with the day and pretend that we are getting the same amount of sleep.

Amen on bball.

You know why she gets mad? because she wants to sleep too. but she can see everything that has to be done. she assumes you can see it also. say, for example, the bathtub full of pukey items that is fogging out the house. she's really glad that someone declared it women's work to clean up puke so that you get to climb into the nice warm bed and enjoy that book while she's freezing her tail off scraping puke paste off the sheets so that she can go downstairs and wash four loads of laundry at midnight. really glad. but it exhibits itself as anger. don't take it personally.

You know what might help? if you follow her around once you figure out how very angry she's really pretending to be and make disgusted noises. DON'T actually help, just make the noises. she'll be fooled into believing you've actually done something.

(trust me, this DOES relate to why she gets mad when you sleep. Envy. One of the seven deadly sins.)

NEXT WEEK?!?! how convenient that we are going on vacation that week. Without kids. We might actually catch up on that missed hour of sleep.

I just have to add that if Sweet Pea drinks too much sweet tea, it makes her a Sweet Tea-Pee.

Get it? Like teepee. I KILL me!

And for nearly 5 minutes after I read the Sweet Tea muse, I laughed. So hard that Sir Nottaguy-Imadad had to keep reminding me to breath!

Those maybe random thoughts, but they are so funny!
Soccer starts for us this Saturday...for me, it is still too soon after football season! Ugh!

I hate daylight savings time. Why can't we keep falling back an hour? Then make another day in Feburary every year?

BTW, My wife wasn't kidding. I was beginning to get worried about her breathing.

Well, my fellow snoozer. I think I should throw away my alarm with the snooze button. Thinking of getting a rooster. Then we could have chicken for dinner.
I am with ya on the soccer... Our senior is at tryouts and our 13 yr old has soccer boot camp all next week.
ACLS...uhmmm should I renew? I don't ever use those meds or read rhythms

That whole long random post and all I have to say is this...

I'm with the Mrs. "Don't you DARE fall asleep infront of me" If I'm not sleeping no one else should be sleeping. And sleep is too precious to be used up on the couch.

Oh, by the way... We never have to change our clocks AND the easter bunny comes to us first (oh, sorry, that easter bunny bit was more for Boy Mom) Ah, Tropical North Queensland, Beautiful one day Perfect the next... except for the snakes... and crocodiles... and huge spiders... okay, my one response was not so much one response but a whole random chain of it's own. I think I need to get some sleep.
