Monday's Random Musings

Mrs. Nurse Boy here.

It is Monday and I am finally recovering from The Head Cold of 2010. It was the head cold that I ignored and went about my daily tasks as if I felt fabulous. It was the very head cold that then placed me in bed for 1 and 1/2 days with the TV being Sweet Pea's babysitter. Yeah, I am paying for that one right about now. She is having some withdrawal from the TV and I am having some withdrawal from my bed. But, we are (mostly) better now. And, surprisingly, I have NOT been nominated for mother of the year.

Time for the Monday Random-mess:

**Fuzzy slippers make everything better. Seriously, they do.

**So does a box of tissues when you have The Head Cold of 2010.

**Spring, you'd better not just be teasing me with your sunny weather and warmer temperatures. No one likes a tease.

**And, let it be known that Spring and I will no longer be on speaking terms if it abandons the Midwest AFTER I finally shave my legs.

**The kids no longer own a matching pair of gloves, so spring really cannot come soon enough.

**I am pretty sure I will find the missing gloves after I finally give up and throw out all of the single, matchless gloves.

**Nurse Boy and I are proud to be law abiding citizens. We desire to set a good example for our children. That being said, Nurse Boy was awarded a speeding ticket after a very long 15 hour work day, when I was home sick with the kids.

**He was going 10 mph over the speed limit. Yes, he was speeding and shouldn't have been. He had just left the hospital, after walking several blocks to his car where he fell in the mud. It was 10 PM and he was covered in mud and other bodily fluids that I don't even want to think about from the GI Lab.

**Where was that police officer's compassion?

**Is it wrong that I hope he shows up for a colonoscopy this week?

**Don't answer that.

**Maybe he will come down with The Head Cold of 2010.

**OK, that wasn't nice either. I'll stop now.

Happy Monday!

Awww. I was just thinking about you today, too! Glad you're feeling better. I'm sure that spring is not teasing you, although if it is, you are always welcome to retaliate by moving to AZ! :) It's always sunny in Phoenix!!

I hear ya. I got a ticket about a month ago for failing to signal. The magistrate dismissed it. Thank God. Glad you feeling better. I love fuzzy slippers and I am loving the spring like weather too:) it better stick around.

Glad you are feeling better. Sorry you were sick to begin with. I would think the officer could have shown some compassion...geez! We've been kinda rainy and blue here the last few days. I'm glad someone has some sun. (I do like the green weeds outside though. Much nicer than brown ones.)

I'm with you concerning the Spring tease. I took the 500# of mulch from the back of my pick up truck. If it snows again, I'm doomed.

Be careful when treating a cop medically. He will see you many more times than you will see him.

I knew that head cold had to have turned into something really yucky! I mean, seriously, no Friday Fare?? I'm glad you are feeling better and, hopefully, Sweet Pea will handle the withdrawal better today.

Poor NB!!! It's just so wrong to get a ticket on one of "Those" days!

LOL at your "thoughts" for the uber compassionate police officer.

I'm sorry you've been sick!! I hope you are back to 100% soon.

I need warmer weather because my kids are growing out of their winter stuff and you can't buy it in stores right now. Grr.

I have that same problem with mittens.

I also like fuzzy on my feet (in my case socks instead of slippers but the comfort effect is similar).

Glad to read that your head cold is gone.

Okay, we think alike because I was thinking... boy, this guy needs a good old butt scope and then I read the very next sentence. LOL!

Glad you are feeling better. I already had to shave my legs, so if spring retreats again I'll be one mad woman.

Couldn't Nurse Boy have said, "Sorry officer but I wanted to wash this blood and poop off my hands from where I work at the hospital?" And then waved his hands at the cop.

And then the cop would take him in for suspicion of murder and .. well, never mind. Don't listen to me.

You saw some sunshine? Lucky.

I am sorry you were sick. I hope that your kleenex were lotion and aloe.

Sounds like you need more CHOCOLATE in your diet to me.

You make me laugh - even in the middle of what sounds like a crazy week!

I pity that poor police officer next time he needs to visit your husband!

(Oh, and Spring is doing that same thing around here... I even think about shaving my legs and it pours buckets and a windstorm rips off our porch roof...)

Happy Saturday!
