Things That Make Me Smile

Mrs. Nurse Boy here.

I moved around a LOT during my childhood.  (I lived in 4 different states, 5 different cities, and attended 12 different schools.)  During 3rd and 4th grade I actually lived in the very same city that I live in now.  Those were the summers that I truly learned how to swim.  I spent every single day at the neighborhood pool.  I loved swimming and I loved the freedom to spend the entire afternoon at the pool.

This spring, my parents moved back into that very same neighborhood.  Twenty-five years later, my kids are now swimming in that very same pool.  And, that makes me just a little sentimental.

It most definately makes me smile!

I would LOVE to have a pool, even a neighborhood pool! We have a community center right around the corner for us, but it only has an indoor pool and a very small splash pad. Bummer.

I loooved to swim, too, when I was much younger and went as often as I could, though, becasue we lived in the country, it was usually to Presbyterian Pond, the community swimming hole, but it was in a beautiful setting, surrounded by trees and actually had a natural beach area!
I don't go swimming now nearly as often as I would like nad I'm not sure why.
That is so neat that your kids are now swimming where you used to! How awesome is that?!?!?!

Awesome. I love that. My future kids will never swim in my childhood neighborhood pool. They filled it in with dirt.

How life does come full circle sometimes! And I love the pictures you are taking with the camera that Mr. Nurse Boy thought was not a necessity! **smile**

I, on the other hand, lived my entire single life in one place (I didn't move until I was married) and can't swim a stroke.

The swimming pool doesn't just make you smile as evidenced by the pictures.

We moved around a lot too and that makes it so hard growing up. But we live and go on right? I love that they are swimming in the same pool though. That is kind of cool.

I took the my three littlest to the neighborhood pool I grew up in the other day. I could still remember the exact spot our swim class dove for coins to spend at the snack bar on the last day of swimming lessons.

Such a sweet post. Summers memories...Ahhh!

That's awesome. We live very near to where I grew up and sometimes I'm caught up in the same nostalgia, telling my kids stories about the areas and the memories connected with them. It doesn't seem like that long ago, although I'm sure to them it seems like some weird prehistory.

That pool looks so inviting though.
