Laughter: Food for Our Souls

Mrs. Nurse Boy here.

My husband cringes every time I go to one of those home parties. It doesn't matter what kind. I feel compelled to help the mom/business owner out by purchasing a new item or two for our home. Usually it is something that we don't need. Almost always it is something Nurse Boy does not want.

You can imagine his delight when I recently came home from one of those parties with some vinyl letters to decorate our home. He was even more delighted when I informed him that he was going to help me get these letters to adhere to our refrigerator and walls.

Oh, yes, he simply could not contain his JOY.

The letters were a pain to work with, I'll give him that. But, here is the final result:

I know. Simple, right? Maybe even a little weird. But, I love it. I love that reminder facing me every morning, noon, and night.

I want our home to be filled with laughter. Even during the hard times. It is so important to laugh. And, who doesn't love it when a child starts to laugh and losses control? Ah, I simply love the belly laughter. It makes my day. Every time.

I pray that all of you get the chance to "giggle a giddy laughter." Everyday.

I was not laughing when the letters would not adhere correctly. I did not giggle when I heard the price. I cried when she showed me the one to put on the over hang going into the playroom.

Well, my hat's off to you. =D I love a good laugh! My son and I had a huge laugh fest the other night when I found a video. We took turns watching, laughing and gasping for air. I put it on the right side of TextImps.com if you want to watch it. And it's rated G and I bet some of the kiddos would get a kick out of it. I hope you enjoy it as much as the boy and I did.

LOL @ Mr. Do they all say the same thing?

Laughter definitely has a healing effect too. Hubs laughs every time I bring something home to spiffy up the house, as it adds to his honey-do list. :-)

I stuck about 60 of those bad boy vinyl letters to some painted blocks to give out as teacher gifts and neighbor gifts. They got called some very naughty names by the time I was done.

Love the word giggle, love the power of laughter. Great Idea!

So what does the one over the play room say?

Sir Nottaguy-Imadad gets very quiet every time someone invites me to a decorating party. It brings back the memory of an ugly arguement that I caused. I try to avoid them like the plague.

Nurse Boy just HAD to bring up the one in the playroom! That one didn't turn out as well. I must confess that I do still love it. It says, "Together is a wonderful place to be." Must days that is true...winter does have a way of challenging that thought...

I'm listening to my little one learn to laugh as I type this. An angel chorus couldn't sound as sweet.

I ought to have the Giggle one tattooed to my husband's forehead. He's a grouch lately!

I love to make the kids do that giggle that has lost control. I'll put their undies on my head, sing into the mop handle (which does look a lot like a microphone), dance around like a loonie, pretend to be crazy-ape-mummy (now there's a fun game). ANYTHING! I LOVE IT!

So, Mrs. NB, when can I book you in for a Tupperware party?

Last year me and my little girls painted "smile" on our fence in the back yard, complete with flowers and everything (it is an old fence that needs torn down). Seeing your fridge reminded me of our fence,.. Where do you get those letters? I would love to add something to my fridge.. something about joy.

I had to check out your blog after the post from my friend on "boys R Us"....

Ha! I had an argument with some vinyl letters today myself. Love the fridge bling, what a fantastic quote and a great place to put it. I'd probably put something on my fridge that says, "The chocolate is in the pantry."
