Monday's Random Musings

Mrs. Nurse Boy here.

It is Monday.  I am tired.  I need to straighten up the house, run some (not so fun) errands, and (of course) do a few loads of laundry.  Sounds exciting, huh?!

Time for some randomness...

* My closet is a MESS.  I really need to do something about it, but the sight of it paralyzes me.  I think I will just close the door and ignore it.

* A few weeks ago we thought we heard a squirrel in the attic.  We immediately called a company to go check out the situation.  $149 and 20 minutes later, the overpaid man in the jumpsuit tells us we have mice in the attic.  Another $16 later, Nurse Boy enters the attic with enough traps to make the mice pack up and move.  He catches nothing... because we don't have mice.  No critters.  Just some cobwebs.  And, a depleted bank account.  Apparently, we were just imagining things.

* It is expensive to use your imagination.

* Yesterday I found my husband watching football in our bedroom while laying on a pile of clean laundry.  I couldn't believe my eyes.  When I inquired as to why in the world wasn't he FOLDING the laundry, he looked surprised.  In his defense, he said he was "resting gently beside our clothes" and he was eventually going to fold them.  (Liar!)

* You will be happy to know that I let him live.

* This year the kids will be spending every Sunday evening at Awana while Nurse Boy and I will have a weekly date night.  We all are loving it!

* I NEED an eyebrow wax ASAP!  It is surprising just how happy that can make me feel.  It is an instant pick me up.

* It is starting to feel like fall and I am loving it!  And, craving all things pumpkin.

* Pumpkin + hot chocolate= 2 of my favorite fall things.  Not necessarily together.

* Bruiser pulled his first all nighter at a sleepover this weekend.  He came home in tears and begging to go straight to bed.  He spent the day redefining the word "crabby."

* Note to self:  NO MORE sleepovers for Bruiser.  My patience can't take it.

Happy Monday!

Come back next TUESDAY for a fabulous giveaway from CSN stores!!!  Yet another chance to win an opportunity to do some online shopping for FREE!  I love giving stuff away!

It really felt like fall here this weekend too. I even made a pot roast yesterday. Of course, it's supposed to be 87 tomorrow. *sigh*

OY! I never quite understand the "sit/lay down next to something that obviously needs to be done" mindset of some guys. Drives me nuts when Mr. Daddy loads up the SINK because the clean dishes are waiting to be put away... (while I'm at work, no less. LOL - gotta love that man!)

Sorry, I didn't mean to giggle through your post, but I love the way you write. Hope you have a great time on your date nights!

I have come to the conclusion that men are per-wired to NOT fold laundry! They can make it, but not clean it!

Come by when the laundry pile goes down some...

Sleepovers are evil. Just sayin'. I had a weekend with 2 boys redefining crabby... and I think they learned I can be even crabbier. ;)

LOL! 'Resting gently' by the clean laundry??!!! BAHAHAHA! Someone get that man a mop and put him to work!

Ha! After years of Adorable Hubby complaining about the laundry I told him, "You're a big boy, do it yourself!" He threw a tantrum, pooped in his pants and sucked his thumb all afternoon. Still deciding whether he lives or dies... painfully.

I'm cracking up about the sleepover grumpies. I despise sleepovers, doesn't matter where or who with they are bears the next day. Of course if we lived close enough I'm sure our boys could sleep over at each others houses with no grumpiness we're just that wonderful...right?

Hug! Have a lovely day!

I have no snappy comeback to the laundry football thing. The only reason I am alive is because you can't collect on my life insurance if you kill me.

Sorry about being wimpy about the imaginary beast in the attic. All I know is:fat man + attic + protective mama beast = trip to the ER and a hole in the ceiling. I know this because I took grad school math. This is the only equation I remember.

I cannot say that ALL men are per-wired not to fold laundry. In addition to making it, I also wash, dry, fold and put away my laundry, my wife's laundry and my MIL's laundry (who resides in a nursing home). Mr. Nurse boy was just using "The Think Method" (see "The Music Man") to fold the laundry.

I literally laughed out loud at his mathmatical equation in his comments.Beeing a fatboy myself, I could see it happening. Almost been there.

I can vouch for the laundry wizard that Sir Nottaguy-Imadad is! I would be so lost if I had to go back to doing the laundry! **BIG GRIN**
