Fighting the Winter Blahs...

Mrs. Nurse Boy here.

I don't know about you, but we are fighting the winter blahs. January is such a let down after a busy, crazy, blessed December. Now, we have moved into February.

At a mommy group the other week, they shared a tried and true recipe for homemade playdoh. I know I already have this recipe...somewhere. At least I put it in a safe place so I would know where it was... of course, I have NO IDEA where that is.

The story of my life.

Since I now have the recipe back in my not-so-safe-hands, I decided Sweet Pea and I needed to pound out some fun.

I thought I would share the recipe and some pictures of those chubby hands at work. And, no, I am not refering to my own hands.

Yay! PINK playdoh!

Aren't those hands so cute?

SHE is the master of design.

OK, she had a little help here.

Adjusting...

Perfection!

Homemade Playdoh
1 c. flour
1c. boiling water
2 tbsp. cream of tartar
1/2 c. salt
1 tbsp. oil
food coloring

Mix and knead together. Next, add kids!
By the way, pounding the playdoh IS a great stress reliever!
I'm just saying...

Thanks for the recipe. My little darling likes to eat it and the ladies at the gym child watch suggested I make my own although they didn't suggest a recipe. All I need is the cream of tartar.

Much love from NJ,
Sue

I love playdough! Entertainment for hours. Great Idea with the letters. I've heard if you add unsweetened Kool-aid powder it smells good.

Those little hands are precious.

Thank you for your kind words on my blog! I'm so glad you stopped by for a visit! Yes, my Mommy is an amazing soul.... the older I get the more I appreciate her! :)

I loved your profile... the "poop on jelly" had me laughing out loud! Your children are beautiful and I can't wait to explore and read your blog! :)

PS: I couldn't agree with you more about January... what an awful month it is! Gray, rainy, dark and just all-around ICKY! At least with February the days are getting a BIT longer and Spring is a BIT closer! Woo hoo!

Those little hands are so cute, I love little hands creating things. I must admit though...

I HATE PLAYDOUGH!

I know, I know, that is against some mummy-code. Call an intervention if you want. I can't stand the stuff. It's messy and disgusting and gets stuck in the carpet and ICK.

I do however like it when they want to help cook and I am not feeling in the mood for "help" so they sit at the bar and cook me some playdough and I cooks some real food that has no snot, drool, dirt, snot or drool in it. But then I get to clean up time and my feelings of hatred return.
