Mrs. Nurse Boy here.
Just sharing some random thoughts from my mommy brain today...
YOU KNOW YOU'RE A MOM WHEN...
*You know you're a mom when the only happy hour you are aware of is at Sonic from 2-4 PM. (Bring on the Diet Cherry Limeades! And, if you don't have a Sonic nearby, you should move. Seriously.)
*You know you're a mom when you buy plug ins for every bathroom in an attempt to trick your nose into thinking you are NOT smelling urine at any given moment.
*You know you're a mom when you spend most of your free time reading books that rhyme.
*You know you're a mom when you lock yourself in the (urine smelling) bathroom for some peace and quiet. (And spend that time ignoring the pounding at the door.)
*You know you're a mom when the thought of dinner sends your body into convulsions.
*You know you're a mom when YOU need a tutor to complete the math homework.
*You know you're a mom when it is no longer necessary to set an alarm. (You have living, breathing, walking alarms that happily crawl into your bed and poke you with their cold toes before the crack of dawn.)
*You know you're a mom when a nice dinner out is considered anywhere that doesn't have a cartoon character as a marketing ploy.
And...
*You know you're a mom when you wouldn't trade your life for anyone else's.
Most days, that is... :0)

I can so relate to the bathroom one...both of the bathroom ones. And of course the last one. :-)
Those are so funny!! I buy plug ins now for the whole because of urine smells but it is from dogs not kids:)
I'm happy to know that I'm not the only one who seeks out the bathroom for alone / quiet (not) time!
I made your chicken dish yesterday... with the spinach and mushrooms. It was awesome!
Nice randomness! The bathroom is my safe haven too, urine smell notwithstanding. It's the only place where they leave me alone long enough to read a NON-rhyming book. ;)
In Australia most toilets are seperate to the bathroom... but my bathroom still has the urine smell???
I'm off to lock myself in there for a shower and ignore the pounding on the door:) ahh, sweet escape.
It won't let me leave a comment so trying again. I remember the days of bathrooms smelling eau-de-urine. Lovely!
Not to mention all the interesting things you find in their pockets when you are doing laundry....
So true for all of them!
A Sonic is being built about a mile from my house...and I have heard of it, but never been-we'll see!
No Sonic here, but we have book/magazine racks in both bathrooms for non-rhyming reading materials. My MIL couldn't figure out why anyone would want to read there.
I can fully relate to not needing an alarm clock. If one of the children doesn't wake me up one of the others certainly well - and usually way too early!
Seriously Mrs. Nurse Boy WE ARE LIVING THE SAME LIFE!!! You put all of it so eloquently. I wouldn't change it for the world either. I love my children more than I ever thought possible.
Much love from NJ,
Sue

It's official. I AM a mom. :o)
