Monday's Random Musings...when I should be napping!

Mrs. Nurse Boy here.

I am exhausted.

We had a wonderful 4th of July. It was full of food, fun, fellowship, and fireworks. It was NOT full of sleep.

So, staying with my Monday tradition, here are my random thoughts:

*** During our last trip to Costco, I let Nurse Boy talk me into a case of Coke Zero. I am a fan of Diet Coke. Turns out I am not such a fan of the Coke Zero. Therefore, I am now the proud owner of 144 cans of a beverage I won't drink. Here's hoping Nurse Boy LOVES this stuff!

*** Completely unrelated, (it IS called "Random Musings," people) I am also the proud owner of a year's supply of toilet paper. Something tells me that Costco purchase was a little over the top.

*** Bruiser lost his second tooth last night. After the boys were tucked into bed, Dimples pulled Bruiser's tooth out with his bare hands. They were both delighted.

*** What I wouldn't have given to have had the opportunity to yank out one of my brother's teeth! Although, I think Dimples was gentle and loving. I am not so sure that would have been my first instinct :0) Maybe that's why he never asked me...

*** It DIDN'T rain on our parade...although it sure did try! Man, did we have a lot of rain this weekend. But, it was dry and cool for the parade and fireworks.

*** Dimples shot off fireworks for the first time this year. This was the only picture I got since I am an overprotective mother. I had to put the camera down and get Bruiser and Sweet Pea to safety. I know I sprouted at least 20 more gray hairs just watching Dimples and his fireworks display.

*** Lastly, I love watching this relationship. Her daddy is her protector. He can make everything better just by being present. Does that remind you of anyone? I learn so much about God by watching my children. When we allow Him to be present, He just makes everything so much easier.

I hope you all had a wonderful 4th!!!!

Hey, Mrs. NB! I'm tired, too! In fact, it is almost 5pm on Monday evening and I'm still in my nightgown. Oh, I've showered, fixed my hair, brushed my teeth, but donned the nightgown once again! *sigh* Oh, and I remember when our son lit his first fireworks! Oh my! But we all survived! Thank you, Jesus! Get some rest!! *smile*

My FAVOURITE photo is the one of Sweet Pea getting excited over something in the parade! That is one super excited little girl!

So did Nurse Boy wear his flag boardies? Or did the comments make him too insecure? I can't wait until one day he has a teenage daughter commenting on his clothing choices... please still be blogging then so I can hear all about it!

Nurse Boy did NOT wear his flag boardies and I have YOU, Mummy McT, to thank!!!!! And, I made a quick run to the store for a flag shirt and forbid him to be a "Fruitcake" on the 4th. I think our friends and family were thankful. I know I was!!

I remember those first fireworks too. I was always a nervous wreck and we were very careful, lol!

Love the picture of Sweet Pea and the parade too!

I just love Costos. We used to have a membership, then cancelled it in our attemps to "budge" and "save money"- ha! That didn't quite work like we'd planned. If I was a coke zero fan I would take those off your hands for ya, but alas, I am not....if it were dr pepper however...... ;)

Mummy,
You may already know me too well, because now I feel like I have to wear my flag boardies every day for the rest of my life to prove that I am not self consious. Well played, but I will not be victim to your mind games.

Mrs.,
You know I don't love Cherry Coke Zero. You know the only reason I drink it is because you have banned Pepsi from our home. So now you are complaining about the two billion cans of coke zero huh. Don't marriage suck sometimes!

disclaimer: I love my wife and love my marriage. The above comment would be what a man with working testicles might say.

No Pepsi??!!! I LOVE the pic of sweet pea . . . she was having a great time! Ah, teeth. Hate it. My oldest had some help via his brother and a seat belt buckle to the face. Lost 2 with one whack. :-P

I just love your blog. From the title to the stories, I just love them. I don't know you or even how I found your blog either, but I am so glad to have found it! It made my night! you are so creative! I haven't started blogging yet, still trying to determine if it is for me, but you have given me some great ideas. I hope mine is half as interesting as yours!

Your Coke Zero situation reminds me of my wife's dislike for Pepsi Max. I love it, she won't touch it. Love the pics of your kiddos.

Looks like a fantastic time was had by all! And I love the daddy snuggle pic at the end--so sweet!

Had to laugh at the toilet paper stash--my signature on my blog is made of toilet paper--you may have seen this post but thought you might enjoy if you haven't...

Great pictures! :o)

When Emily has a loose tooth, you can't get near it with a ten foot pole. She sure wouldn't let a brother (if she had one) pull it! LOL

Looks like you had a great weekend. But where is Mr. Nurse Boy's "Fruitcake" shirt. Or was it "Shortcake?" or "Sweet Stuff?" or....

hhmmmmm.....regardless...I missed it. :-)
