Things That Make Me Smile

Mrs. Nurse Boy here.

Can you guess what makes me smile?

Walking home with my boys.

Love it.

This is the first year they have gone to a school that was close enough to walk to.

Our afternoon walks start off with just us girls. We sing our ABC's, chat, and...

RUN!

But, we always stop to hold hands at the intersections.

Once we get to school, we are greeted with some smiles and...

energy!

Maybe even a quick game or two of soccer with some new friends.

Did I already mention ENERGY?!

I get to chat with the boys about their day, share smiles and giggles with their friends, and listen to the "large" amounts of homework they were all unfairly assigned. ;0)

Yes, I am the only mom walking down the street with a slew of kids, but I love it. I think I will just enjoy being the "cool" mom for as long as I can. We all know that can change at any moment.
It is a great way to spend an afternoon.

That is, until it starts to get cold.

(I don't do cold so well. When it is cold, you will see me in the carpool lane. The carpool lane NEVER makes me smile.... )

But, a walk with my kiddos and their friends always puts a smile on my face!

I remember when I used to live close enough to walk to school. It was so fun. I wish my kids lived close enough for me to walk them to school...how fun for you. They are adorable. You will always be a cool mom.

That is so sweet! We drive...and listen to books on tape...I would love the walk, as long as there is no snow!

Look at that fall foliage! Beautiful! I don't do cold either. Actually, I don't even do chilly, so I'd probably already be in the carpool lane... and what is on dimples forehead?! ;)

What a cool mom - you're right! No wonder your kids are always smiling. Love all the photos - beautiful autumn. Yep. I don't do cold either. Funny since I live in the foothills of Colorado and am currently under a foot of snow. Seriously. I CANNOT stand the cold.

I had an hour bus ride to school, however, my kids lived within walking distance to all their schools.

Brandi,
When Dimples' teacher wants the kids to remember something they get a not stuck to their forehead.

Fun! I wish we lived close enough to walk to our school. I love the beautiful trees lining the street.

I live close to our school too and will look forward to walking Jonathan to school when he goes -- three years from now.

Awww sweet! I'd be walking my kid to school in a couple years if it wouldn't be considered child abuse. I mean, he'd literally be able to say, "when I was YOUR age, I had to walk 8 miles to school one way", LOL :)

Great pictures!

I honestly thought you were smiling because they had the sense to wear " socks". I had to confisicate all the flip flops and sandels.

Great pictures.
