Monday's Random Musings

Mrs. Nurse Boy here.

This weekend was full of fun, food, and too much sun. We had our local fair and spent most of the weekend enjoying what marks our official start to summer. Today, I will share some random moments from our action packed weekend...

Saturday we started off with the parade. The kids were lined up next to the street and armed with bags to collect their junk, oops, I mean loot. We are stocked up on suckers and tootsie rolls for the summer. Aren't you jealous?

Bruiser was STILL a little bit afraid of the sirens and some of the costumes. Sweet Pea? Not so much. This boy cracks me up! He is my wild, yet sensitive one.

We also spent Saturday with Sweet Pea's future husband. Yes, we have an arranged marriage planned for these two!

Look what we spotted! Some homegrown crack!
(I would just like to say that, "Crack is whack!")

We rode some rides. Of course, I only have a picture of Sweet Pea since I was scoping out the craft booths while all of the boys rode the rickety rides. Plus, I can't watch them ride those "portable" rides. I just have to LOOK AWAY.

We knew it was time to end the Saturday fun when the ugly cry reared it's head.

Sunday was more of the same. Dimples is seen here sporting a new 'do.

Doesn't Bruiser remind you of the Incredible Hulk? We practically had to pay him to wash his hair last night. He loved it!

We watched a magic show, a puppet show, and some "Lumber Jills".

Lastly, we watched in amazement when this gentleman balanced a BENCH on his face! I am pretty sure the boys WILL try this at home. Pray for me this week!

Oh, and even worse, he juggled with fire. He even ATE the fire. I told you I needed prayer. Do they ever hear the part where they say, "Don't try this at home"? Yeah, I didn't think so.

We ended the weekend with dinner and a movie in our air conditioned living room. Some of you have recommended that I watch "Over the Hedge," due to my complete love of all things squirrel and possum. (You heard the sarcasm in my voice, right?!) Yeah, really enjoyed the movie, loved the jokes that went over the kids' heads, didn't think even THAT squirrel was cute, and I am now certain I am living out that movie in real life.

Hopefully, I can sleep at night.

I didn't take pictures of any of the food we ate, because I thought the calories might count if I had photographic evidence. Without the evidence, I am pretty sure that none of those calories counted. Right? Right?!

Oh, all right. I'll go hop on the treadmill. But, how much fat can be in a fried piece of cheesecake? Dipped in fudge sauce?

Don't answer that! I'm going, I'm going...

That cheesecake sounds so good! :o)

Looks like a fun time to me!

The crack? I saw enough on Jack's run to do me a life time! You wouldn't believe some of the things you see on the road and at truck stops. Gack.

Okay, seriously, no weekend is complete without the crack patrol!

And if you ever come visit me, you seriously will need to get over your fear of little bitty harmless creatures, I mean, critters.

Looks and sounds like the weekend was a blast! Thanks for sharing.

Really? They deep fry cheesecake?! I would be all over that! Only if it were fat-free of course. ;)

Looks like a lot of fun was had by all. I love that you took a photo of some random guy's butt-crack. That is truly the sign of a dedicated blogger. I was so close to doing the same myself at a recent award ceremony, had the offender not been carrying a child on her shoulder that was totally giving me the stare down. :(

With your sense of humor, I knew you'd like "Over the Hedge" (I've seen it al least a dozen times).

I just wonder if the fire eater got heartburn?

If you eat the deep fried cheese cake with a diet soda, the diet soda cancels out the calories from the cheesecake(or so I've heard).

Love it! Our community fair is this weekend! Can't wait, although it does take from my precious blog time.

Fried Cheesecake? Dipped in Fudge? Yikes girl! Where's my piece?

I love the big strong Bruiser types who are afraid of sirens, it doesn't bode well for their future.

Fire eating, bench balancing exposure? Sending prayers fast!

Did you HAVE to share the butt-crack picture? LOL Ewwwww!! What is wrong with people anywayyyy???? Can't they feel a draft? Don't they KNOW that they're showing too much? Or maybe they just don't care?! Ewwwww!
Sounds like you all had a great time! thanks for sharing all of the pics! AND our son, Daniel, wasn't too fond of all of the sirens and horns and stuff for a long time either! *smile*

The guy with the butt crack was my brother! How could you mock him!

*snicker* *snicker*

Yeah right. Too funny! Even if it had been my brother I would have mocked.

Oh and you are in my prayers this week. May your children not have benches fall on their heads or their throats burned out by flaming sticks.
