Our Family's Bitter/Sweet Life

Moms Are Superheros!

We can grow humans in our belly.

We can feed many mouths in a matter of minutes.

We can pack lunches faster than a speeding bullet.

We can sniff out a bully and put them to shame.

We can discipline with ease and sass.

We can wrestle hair into a ponytail on a moving head.

High pitched screams are no match for us.

We can rid a town of bratty children with one stern look.

We can put multiple children to bed in one clean swoop.

Homework is no challenge for us.

Recipes are a snap.

We can attack the bills while preparing a wholesome meal AND consoling a friend over the phone.

Piles of laundry are the enemy.

We are one of a kind.
We are Super Moms.
No superhero can even compare.

So, why do I often find myself feeling like this???

(Friday Fare will return next week. I need to rest some of my super powers tonight. It has been one of those weeks.)

Because even Super Heroes have an alternate identity so that they can have some down time!

I hope things get better for you soon. We can be super....but sometimes mere mortals get worn out and have to rely on someone much stronger (our Heavenly Father and his son Jesus.)

look at it this way; at least you've still got great legs!
i too know how overwhelming the super-mom role can be. i have to remind myself to let others help and even if it is not done the way i would want it (perfectly) it will be ok and at least it got done. hope you can get some rest this weekend. (your family and us bloggers still think you are great)

Oy... that last picture had me in stitches... empathetic stitches. Hang in there - we'll love to have you back when you make it (ahem, by Tuesday would be ideal... y'know, being as you guys have some pretty awsome True Stories... I'm just sayin' ahem).

I always look so forward to your Monday and Friday posts but I do understand just being overcome with life...*sigh*
There's a song by Twila Paris that just says how I feel sometimes when going through a difficult time....
"Lately I've been winning battles left and right
But even winners can get wounded in the fight
People say that I'm amazing
Strong beyond my years
But they don't see inside of me
I'm hiding all the tears

They don't know that I go running home when I fall down
They don't know who picks me up when no one is around
I drop my sword and cry for just a while
'Cause deep inside this armor
The warrior is a child

Unafraid because His armor is the best
But even soldiers need a quiet place to rest
People say that I'm amazing
Never face retreat
But they don't see the enemies
That lay me at His feet"

If I could I would sing it to you, Mrs. NB but I hope the words help! ((HUGS))
